Mechanical Integrity one of the 14 elements included in Process Safety Management (PSM), driven by the OSHA 1910.119 standard; that includes all and any equipment/assets used to produce products made from hazardous material on the list covered by the PSM standard. Mechanical Intergrity programs is an important part in ensuring the safety and reliability of oil & gas and chemical facilities assets is fabricated correctly is professionally installed, maintained, and replaced to prevent failures and accidental releases.
Mechanical Integrity includes all equipment/assets used to produce products hazardous materials such as:
Pressure Vessels
Storage Tanks
Piping Systems (including piping components such as valves and fitting)
Pressure Relief Devices
Emergency shutdown systems
Rotating equipment/assets, such as pumps, blowers, fans, and compressors
